Full Job Description:

As a letting agent, we deal with renting out and managing of residential properties on behalf of their owners. This could be houses, flats or sometimes individual rooms. Keeping up to date with latest legislation is an extremely important aspect of the job. You will be required to liaise with landlords, tenants and contractors to help run a small office. Communication and general administration skills are essential.

Different Office Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Telephone answering, message taking, call forwarding.
  • Registering and qualifying applicants.
  • Booking in viewings and other appointments.
  • Assisting with the applicant referencing process.
  • Preparing tenant welcome packs for check-ins.
  • Making sure property safety checks are up to date.
  • Checking insurance records for contractors are up do date.
  • Booking in property visits.
  • Assisting with property maintenance issues.
  • Filing of hardcopies of paperwork.
  • Making sure keys and files are kept in an orderly state.
  • Assisting colleagues with ad hoc duties.

Working Week (hours and days):

Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.30pm (this will be a 4 day week as you will required to work Saturdays, this day off can be flexible depending on the office diary). Every Saturday 9.30am – 2.00pm.


Depending on experience, up to £8.50 an hour.

Skills Required:

  • A good level of written and spoken English. Ideally English GCSE grade 4 and above (minimum grade C or equivalent).
  • Must be able to use Word and email with confidence (basic knowledge of computers).
  • Ability to work as a team but also know how to use own initiative.
  • Lettings involves a lot of dealing with the public so must feel confident enough to do this.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Local knowledge of the area, helpful.
  • A UK driving license would be preferable but not essential at this stage.
